Saunas at the Hotel Bear Inn

A relaxing sauna

A key part of Finnish culture is the sauna, and it's definitely something to be experienced when visitng Finland, and especially Sodankyla. A vast majority of all Finns bath in a sauna at least once a week, and we have thousands of saunas by lakes, rivers, in the middle of the forests, in our houses and nowadays also in apartments.

Enjoying this unique part of Finnish culture is as close as walking downstairs at the Hotel Bear Inn. Our hotel also boasts one of the finest hotels in all of Sodankyla, and there's no charge for hotel guests. Our sauna is open daily from 6.00 pm – 9.00 pm, if you need any assistance, please ask at the reception desk

Sauna bathing is not only relaxing but also good for your health. Often asked questions are how long one should stay in the sauna or how often the water should be thrown on the heated stones, well there are no rules for this, but as long as you feel comfortable and listen to your body, take breaks and a cooling shower in between the sauna baths you have followed the local sauna traditions.
